Markku Lähteenvuo

Markku Lähteenvuo is a forensic psychiatrist with a sub-specialty in addiction medicine working in the largest state operated forensic hospital in Finland. In addition to clinical work he has also authored several publications on the field of pharmacology, genetics and translational medicine.

He has served as a national coordinator for the SUPER-Finland project, which collected a sample of 10 000 psychosis patients in Finland, including forensic psychiatric patients, aiming to elucidate the biological processes behind psychoses.

He is currently a board member of the Finnish Psychiatrists’ Association and the chairman of the Association’s Educational Committee.
